Position: SENIOR HYDROGEOLOGIST
Salary: $79,156 Annually, negotiable depending on qualifications
Department: Water Utilities Department (WUD)/Engineering Services
Location: 8100 Forest Hill Boulevard, WPB
Hours: 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday - Friday
Other: THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.
Performs technical work involving the application of the principles of geology and hydrogeology. Plans, designs, reviews, and/or organizes projects; provides expertise and comments on all aspects of the permitting, design, construction, rehabilitation, and inspection of new water/production and disposal systems modifications, and improvements to existing water utility facilities. Reviews the coordination and approves work projects involving expansion and improvement of WUD facilities for adherence to contracts and specifications, as issued by County and state regulatory agencies; provides technical review and oversight of WUD facilities; prepares reports, permit applications, presentations and makes recommendations; prepares and implements designs and project specifications; reviews site plans, as-built drawings, permits; signs and seals geologic documents. Requires both independent professional judgment and decision-making of considerable difficulty. Assignments are received in the form of broad instructions or general program objectives. Work is reviewed for general adherence to established norms.
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Civil Engineering with a specialty in Hydrology/Hydrogeology or one of the Physical/Natural Sciences; minimum of five (5) years of experience in responsible professional work in hydrogeology/water resources management.[EYD1] [AP2]
Necessary Special Requirement: Must be registered as a Professional Geologist or Engineer in the State of Florida at time of appointment.
PREFERENCE FOR: Experience with administration, coordination, and supervision of production wells and injection wells construction contracts up to $6 million per year; Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification; Related Master’s Degree.
