Overview
The Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager oversees the operations and maintenance of the City’s six Wastewater Treatment Plants including process control, budget preparation and control, workforce coordination, staff training, wastewater treatment plant safety, as well as miscellaneous logistics management. This position is to ensure the City’s six plants meet all related regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Provide oversight into wastewater treatment plant operations
Provide technical support, resources, and personnel for all wastewater treatment plant operations
Provide oversights into the maintenance and operations of wastewater treatment plant facilities by assessing the conditions and operational data
Respond to requests for information on operations, design, and performance
Ensure the operations of wastewater treatment plants to meet Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) permits
Prepare and submit all regulatory reports to various regulatory agencies such as Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Perform administrative duties related to the operations of six wastewater treatment plants including workforce management, budget preparation, monitoring and control, safety of plants O&M, staff training, and miscellaneous logistics management
Oversee and evaluate the performance of the wastewater treatment plant superintendents, and make efforts on improving and optimizing the O&M of wastewater treatment plants to enhance the efficiencies of manpower, equipment, and budget
Help the Assistant Director of the Wastewater Treatment to provide technical support, facility condition assessment, operational data inputs, and other necessary request to upgrade, rehabilitate, and develop the City’s wastewater treatment facilities through various Capital Improvement Project programs and operational projects
Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Exempt – Full-Time
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Six (6) years of experience
Licenses and Certifications
Required
Class A Wastewater Operator’s License
A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
